We build these lamps to hit hard and fast with short-wave infrared heat. If you’ve used those old-school metal coil heaters, you know the drill—they take their time. Ours are different. We use carbon fibre filaments tucked inside quartz glass, which means they heat up almost instantly and put the energy exactly where you need it. The nitty-gritty on power Here is the thing about voltage and wattage: it’s all about how much “punch” you get per millimeter. When you go for a high-wattage tube, you’re basically packing more energy into the same space. And if you run a high-voltage setup, you can get away with thinner wiring throughout your machine because the current draw is lower. Just a heads-up, though—make sure your power supply actually matches the lamp. If they’re out of sync, you’re just asking for a burnout. What’s happening inside the glass Carbon fibre is a beast when it comes to heat. It doesn’t warp or freak out when things get hot the way tungsten does. To make them last even longer, we fill them with halogen gas so the filament doesn’t just evaporate away. As for getting them into your machine, we usually stick with R7s or Sk15 connectors. They should slide right into most industrial ovens without any fuss. Plus, if you need a specific kind of heat wavelength, we can coat the quartz to shift things around for you. Making it work in the real world You’ll see these lamps all over the place in plastic welding or PET bottle blowing. Why? Because they hit the target temperature the second you flip the switch. You get total control over the heat zone. But there is a catch. Because these lamps are so intense, they really put your reflectors to the test. If your reflectors are dirty or pitted, you’re basically throwing heat away. It’s a huge waste of efficiency. Keep them clean. Seriously. Set a schedule and stick to it, or you’ll notice your output starting to dip.
