The Build: Made to Take the Heat
Inside, a carbon filament sits snug in a quartz envelope. We chose quartz because it handles rapid heating and cooling without cracking—it just keeps going, shift after shift. Halogen gas fills the tube, which keeps the filament clean and keeps the output steady over the lamp’s life. Plus, the quartz has a special coating that shapes the IR spectrum so plastics and coatings absorb heat faster. Swapping it in is simple. The R7s double-ended connector makes it a true drop-in replacement. Slide it in, wire it up, and you’re back in business.
Where It Shines—And What to Watch For
This lamp is your go-to for fast, localized heating. Think PET blow molding preheat, thermoforming, laminating, and drying lines. The shortwave IR response hits surfaces hard and fast, which can cut cycle time and help you pick up the pace. But here’s the reality check: 2500W packed into a 300mm tube runs hot. So your machine needs solid cooling and proper thermal shielding. It’s built for industrial duty, but you still have to manage the heat around the reflector and wiring.
