The battle against heat and flicker Here’s the thing about power stability: it all comes down to how the filament handles the heat. When you’re running a continuous line, heat builds up in the housing, which messes with the resistance of the heating element. To stop that from happening, we use high-grade quartz glass and very specific wattage ratings. It keeps the heat flux steady. If you try to cram too much wattage into a tiny space, you’ll just burn out the ends of the tube. We’ve found the sweet spot between voltage and wattage so the whole system just stays stable. Built for the grit of the factory We stick with shortwave infrared for brake parts. Why? Because it digs deeper into the friction material and works faster than the medium-wave stuff. But we also know that factories are messy. There’s dust everywhere and metallic shavings flying around. We house our lamps in rugged modules to keep that junk off the quartz. Plus, we use heavy-duty connectors. You can’t afford a voltage drop at the contact point—a loose connection creates a hot spot, and before you know it, your wiring is melting. Real talk: Life on the shop floor Running a line 24/7 is brutal on hardware. You can’t just toss in a generic lamp and hope for the best. Our modules are drop-in replacements, which makes life easier, but you still have to be smart about it. Make sure your PID controllers are actually tuned for how our quartz tubes ramp up.
