We mix short-wave IR (which digs deep into the material) with medium-wave IR (which keeps the surface stable). It’s basically a way to “bake out” the tension. The result? You stop wasting time on manual trimming. You stop tossing rejected batches into the scrap bin. The parts just… fit.
The trade-offs (Because nothing is free)
Now, I’ll be honest: this adds some weight to your setup. You aren’t just flipping a single power switch anymore. You’re dealing with a matrix of PID controllers and a lot more wiring. It takes a bit more brainpower to set up. And you’ve got to watch your temps. High-density IR arrays gethot. If you don’t have your cooling fans and ventilation dialed in, you’ll cook your own electronics. If the airflow is off, your sensors start to drift. And once the sensors lie to you, your dimensional stability goes right out the window. So, don’t skimp on the fans.
